4-2 公式通りではない仮定法
4-2-1 if省略による「倒置」
仮定法の公式ではifが省略されると倒置が起こる
[公式]（仮定法過去完了の場合）
If s had p.p., S would have p.p.
→ Had s p.p., S would have p.p.
※倒置は were, had, should のみ（一般動詞の倒置は不可）
倒置になっても意味は同じ
[例文]
Had I bought Bitcoin last year, I would have made a lot of money.
Were Melissa not so selfish, she would have more friends.
[応用]倒置した副詞節（従属節）が後ろにくるパターン
「倒置して後置」の場合は、コンマ不要
We could go for a picnic were the weather nicer.
←We could go for a picnic if the weather wre nicer.
I would have asked Sakura out had I known she liked me.
←I would have asked Sakura out if I had known she liked me.

4-2-2 「if節がない」仮定法
[カクシン]仮定法には if がない用法もある
「ifなし仮定法」の判断手順
①助動詞の過去形
②仮定法を予想する
③if節の代用表現を探す
[if節の代表表現]
(1)if節が副詞になるパターン
①with/without ②to不定詞 ③副詞（時・場所など） ④otherwise
(2)if節が名詞になるパターン
①名詞＋and～ ②A 名詞 would ～
(3)if節が完全になくなるパターン

(1)if節が副詞になるパターン
if節（副詞節）を副詞句(without～)、副詞(otherwise)で代用する
①with/withoutがif節の代わりになる
I would noto have succeeded without your help.
You could have knoecked me down with a feather.
※定型句「（腰がぬけるくらい）驚いたよ」
②to不定詞がif節の代わりになる
(a)副詞的用法
To hear Atushi sing opera, you'd thnk he was Italian.
(b)名詞的用法
It would be exciting to meet your childhood idol, don't you think?
③副詞（時・場所など）がif節の代わりになる
What would you do in my place?
「もし私の立場だったら、どうする？」
※副詞句(in my place [position])に「もし私の立場にいるのなら」という仮定が込められている
④otherwiseがif節の代わりになる
和訳の場合にotherwiseが仮定法のif節の代用ということを意識すると英文がリアルに感じられる
I started immediately after lunch; otherwise, I would have missed the train.
← If I had not started immediately after lunch, ～

(2)if節が名詞になるパターン
①名詞＋and～ 「もし[名詞]があれば、～だろうに」※andは「そうすれば」
A little more pocket change, and I would have orderd the grande size.
②A 名詞 would ～ 「もし[名詞]なら～するだろうに」※A＋名詞が主語になる
A Japanese person wouldn't have hugged a stranger.
「もし日本人だったら、見知らぬ人にハグなんてしなかっただろうに」
※冠詞aは「どれでもいいから１つ」という意味
[応用]if節の代表表現「（３）if節が完全消滅するパターン
I wouldn't say that.
「もし私だったら、そんなことは言わないけどね」
[発展]和訳問題対策（「if節の完全消滅」での和訳のコツ）
「"if～"節を伴う／感情（非難・願望）などで帰結する」
Ayato said, "One of my teammates ws injured. We would have won the game."
「アヤトは言った。「僕たちのチームに１人けが人が出た。（もしけが人がなければ）試合に勝てただろうに」と。」
※文の前半はsaid, was で「事実」を述べている。後半はif節の消えた仮定法。
