※「～ほど…ではない」は<not as...as>を用いる

than以下でit is を省略した場合は１音節語でもmoreを用いる

※than以下は(1)than I am, (2)than I 両者可。
(×)than I am tall とは言わない
than me の場合のthanは前置詞
（比較の場合のthanは接続詞）

※比較する対象が同じになるようにthat [those]ofを用いる

「２つのうちでよいほうを選びなさい」
※選んだ１つが限定されるので比較級でも定冠詞がつく
日本語の意味上のthe bestは使わない
